7. Who Impressed Me The Most

And then the next blog would be, “Why do college teachers have to be so negative as to create such angst?” And, you know, that’s just it, too. I mean, life is like that. There’s going to be people that, you know, these are young, fragile children. I was 21. Not exactly a child, but in some respects, yes.

One instructor was an influence this way, and one particular teacher was an influence in a different way. That teacher I remember poignantly.

It took just one teacher who enjoyed what she was doing. She was passionately talking about art history, and I gave her a backhanded compliment through a “What do you think of my class?” essay she told us to write anonymously, on paper, without signing it.

For me, it became an essay about, “What do I think about you?” You know, you’re a great teacher, and you make it a joy to learn.

And my next blog I will call that The Joy of Learning.

You know, who we get influenced by, the good, and what we’re impressionable to as a younger person.

And then there’s the whole idea that, yeah, learning doesn’t have to be painful. But sometimes those painful learning experiences last a lifetime.

So there you go with the title of the blog.

Then there were the teachers that were not !

So more about that in my next blog …
